Battle Prayers are for NOW!

Greeting Sisters, June started our Battle Prayers focus devotionals. Our instruction for prayer for our family friends, fellow believers, strangers are found in Ephesians 6:18: And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

A recap of Battle Prayers:

1. we are fighting a battle (spiritual and ongoing until our commander (Jesus) stops it), one that our enemy wants us to believe is not real

2. we know our commander and he knows us (his soldiers, through our communication with each other) This is our prayer when we come to have communion with him: our praise and worship, our quiet meditation of the Word, sitting in His peaceful presence. These build our relationship with him.

3. we come to his command post (his presence) and ask him what our orders are, who and what to pray for. This is when we come to prayer in petition. We come boldly, we come faithfully. We know who we are, we are his and he hears us.

4. he gives us our orders, we put on our armor and we go to battle. This is when we come to prayer in intercession. Our intercession is prayer on behalf of another. These is were are faith is activated because we know who our God is and what he can and will do in his will.

5. we join this battle because our God loves us, and we love others the same way. We now have his heart and that is one were no man or woman shall have to perish but can come to a relationship with him also. We are being obedient in building His kingdom with a kind, gentle, loving heart.

In these 5 steps: through prayer the Armor of God is activated. Through the Holy Spirit, we have spiritual strength. Prayer now puts us on the offense in this war.

Where did this Godly instruction for battle prayers stem from? For me, it was in a dream a few months ago. This dream was not a happy fun one, it was a battle dream. It was a battle for the soul of a loved one. And it was the Holy Spirit bringing discernment and the realization that the battle is real, the battle is now, and the time is coming to an end. He is coming back for his bride.

He tells us this in 2 Timothy 3:1, But mark this: There will be terrible times in the last days.  Every generation since Jesus ascension into heaven has believed that he was coming back in their time. God did this purposefully so that we would be caught without oil in our lamps (see Matthew 25). But our generation is the closes ever if you look at fulfilled prophesy. The hour is near.

Mark this: Ginosko (Greek) to come to realize, get a knowledge of and perceive.

Terrible Times: Chalepos (Gr) hard to bear, troublesome, dangerous.

Last Days: Eschatos (Gr) the time represent of Jesus' return.

Digging deeper, this verse is: But come to realize and know with great understanding: there is coming the time that is hard and dangerous to bear. This time is nearest the return of Jesus from Heaven to earth and the ultimate ending bringing the Divine Kingdom. 2 Tim 3:1

1. We must understand that Battle Prayers are needed. It's time to stop sticking our heads in the sand.

2. We must understand that these prayers will be hard and self-sacrificing of our time and effort, done in love. These prayers will take time, fasting, in depth study of the word.

3. We must understand the time is now, not later, not when the kids go back to school, not when you get home from vacation, not only on Sunday mornings at church. These prayers start now.
