Monday's Prayer Closet- The Lord's Prayer (it's yours)

Greetings Ladies. For today's Praise and Worship devotional, we are spending time on how our Lord instructed us to pray. It's time we stop saying I don't know how to pray and time we learn and in turn become a living demonstration for the younger generation. They will need prayer more than ever with everything they are and will be coming into to. This world seems to be worse and worse daily, and prayer is our weapon.

Verse 1
Father let Your kingdom come, Father let Your will be done
On Earth as in Heaven, right here in my heart
Father let Your kingdom come, Father let Your will be done
On Earth as in Heaven, right here in my heart

Chorus
Give us this day, our daily bread forgive us, forgive us
As we forgive the ones who sinned against us, forgive them
And lead us not into temptation but deliver us
From the evil one, let Your kingdom come

Verse 2
Father let Your kingdom come (holy, holy) Father let Your will be done
On Earth as in Heaven, (let it be done) right here in my heart

Bridge 1
It’s Yours, it’s Yours, all Yours, all Yours
The kingdom, the power, the glory are Yours
It’s Yours, it’s Yours, all Yours, all Yours
Forever and ever, the kingdom is Yours

The Lord’s prayer in the Bible started by Jesus praising God then made his requests. We praise God first to put us in the right mindset to tell him about our needs. Instead of turning our prayer into a list of requests, it will become a meaningful conversation between a father and his child.

Matthew 6:
But when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father, who is unseen. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you.   (it's between you and God)
And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.   (Be you, talk you)
Do not be like them, for your father knows what you need before you ask him.  (Why pray then? The short answer is that God commands us to pray. It delights God when we humble ourselves and pray to him. It demonstrates that we need him, it stirs us to love and worship him and know him. Its a relationship with Him)
“This, then, is how you should pray: “‘Our Father in heaven, hallowed be your name, (this is the who, Father. our God's name that is Holy and Honored. First our focus should be on worship of Him)
10 your kingdom come, your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.  (Kingdom of God is the realm where He reigns supreme, and Jesus Christ is King. In this kingdom, God’s authority is recognized, and his will is obeyed. We are submitting to His rule here on earth with our situations)
11 Give us today our daily bread. (We are to ask God in prayer to meet our needs, physical and otherwise. This includes food, clothes, shelter and all other things we need to live a godly and content life.)
12 And forgive us our sins, as we also have forgiven those that have sin against us. (We are to repent for our sins and seek God’s forgiveness. We approach God with a pure heart, and this includes forgiving others who have offended us.)
13 And lead us not into temptation but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, and the power and the glory forever’ (This is asking for His guidance, His direction. He is our protection from the evil one, enemy will try to remove us from God’s glory, his holiness, his kingdom.  We finish our prayer by giving God all of our honor and glory for everything. It all nothing and meaningless without Him.)
