Mon. Prayer Closet- Always (Thanksgiving to the Lord)

Greeting sisters,

In keeping with the theme of this month, Thanksgiving, Our devotional song is Always. Because always and over and over again, our God has shown his faithfulness, love and power through the ages. 

“Let us be thankful (grateful), then, because we receive a kingdom that cannot be shaken. Let us be (thankful) grateful and worship God in a way that will please him, with reverence and awe.”

Hebrews 12:28

* a kingdom that cannot be shaken- 

1) this world is filled with uncertainty, trials, turmoil. We are not guaranteed tomorrow in this world. But we can be thankful that we do have a Father that is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. He is in control. 

2) As his children, we are now a part of His kingdom. This world will fall, but we are now a part of a future built on a solid foundation that cannot be destroyed. We need to make sure our world is built on Jesus. 

*thankful in a way that pleases him.

1) thankfulness with reverence and awe not just a tongue in cheek, oh by the way thanks. No this is a get on your knees and thanking the savior for your life, your eternity. This is the thanking that pleases Him. 

2) there are a lot to thank him for: for Him answering our prayers (even the no's), for provisions for our needs (i didnt say wants, but needs), his blesssings (those things that we didnt ask for, he wants his children to have the good things), his character and wonderous works (who he is and everything he has done and will do), and for our brothers and sisters in Christ (we can be thankful for those he has brought in our lives and those that are a part of our family in Christ Jesus).

 I believe You gave sight to the blind
