the Journey- Be about your Father's business
Thursday devotional:
Be about your Father’s business.
(I posted this on my wall March 22nd wanted to share with you.)
I tend not to post a lot of personal about me posts. But to be truthful, I am in a hard place and have been for over a year. The gamete of emotions that bombard me daily would bring any person to their knees. But God...but God! I really don’t know how people can do life with Him. I have found myself asking what do, what to do over and over. I am a person of action so this state of limbo and trial has been devastating to me.
But today, I was reminded that I must be about my Father’s business. That is what I am to do, just like Jesus said in Luke 2:49. I was honored to lead someone to Jesus today, to watch as he made the decision to allow Jesus to become his Lord and Savior. That is what I must do. That is what all believers are called to do.
“We must come to Jesus with open hearts and open hands so that we can be about our Fathers Business, compelling lost souls to seek Jesus anxiously.” Franklin Graham
“So, when I fight, I will fight on my knees with hands lifted high. Oh God the battle belongs to you. Every fear I lay at your feet, I’ll sing through the night. Oh God the battle belongs to you.”
“When all I see are the ashes, you see the beauty...”
“Almighty fortress, you go before us, nothing can stand against the power of our God. You shine in the shadows, you win every battle, nothing can stand against the power of our God.” - Phil Wickham
So what do I do? I lay all my feelings, all my questions, all my doubts, all my wants at His feet and then I go about my Father’s business.
Then Jesus said to his disciples, “If any of you wants to be my follower, you must give up your own way, take up your cross, and follow me.
Matthew 16:24
Heavenly Father, we come to you with hearts bowed and arms wide open. We praise you for your loving faithfulness. May our eyes be turned away from worldly things and set only on you. We lay our lives at your feet, casting aside this world and looking to only you and seeing your heart for your creation. We pick up our cross and we follow you. Our time on this earth is short, may it be pleasing and fruitful to you. May we be a witness and testimony of Christian life. May we be about our Father’s business. Amen
