Monday Prayer Closet- Thank you Jesus for the Blood
Greetings Sisters, for the month of February, our prayer focus will be on forgiveness. To forgive is cancel a debt, to stop feeling angry or resentful toward (someone) for an offense, flaw, or mistake.
A Prayer of Forgiveness for Salvation “That if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved.” Romans 10:9-10
God is holy and our sin separates us from God. The word says no one is perfect, not one. But Jesus, gave up his divinity and came in human form was perfect and sinless, fulfilling the law that was given to Israel. Thus, he was the perfect sacrifice, taking up our sins and punishment that we justly deserve on himself. Through his blood, we have received the gift of salvation.
Salvation is not something we can earn. We accept this salvation when 1) we hear the gospel 2) receive the gift of faith from the Father, 3) declare Jesus as our Lord and our Savior and 4) ask for forgiveness of our sins through the blood of the Lamb and 5) turn away from our old life and become a new creation in Christ Jesus. Now we can have us access to a relationship with God through the forgiveness of our sins. We are justified be God, sanctified by the blood and made holy in His image.
The Bible speaks of forgiveness often because it is such a central point of Scripture. It is through Christ’s life and His sacrifice on the cross that we can find grace and forgiveness before God for our sins. Because of the love God has for us, he made a new way for us to his children.
I remember who I was
I was lost, I was blind
I was running out of time
The breach was far too wide
But from the far side of the chasm
You held me in your sight
Across the great divide
Left behind Heaven's throne
To build it here inside
You paid the debt I owed
Broke my chains, freed my soul
For the first time I had hope
Thank you Jesus, it has washed me white
Thank you Jesus, You have saved my life
Brought me from the darkness into glorious light
Laid inside my tomb of sin
You were buried for three days
But then You walked right out again
And life has no end
For I have been transformed
By the blood of the lamb
Thank You Jesus, it has washed me white
Thank You Jesus, You have saved my life
Brought me from the darkness into glorious light
Than the wonder working power of the blood
The blood
That calls us sons and daughters
We are ransomed by our Father
Through the blood
The blood
There to my heart was the blood applied
Glory to His name
