Monday Prayer Closet- Holy Forever (healing)

Greeting sisters, we are finishing up our prayer focus for the month of March on healing. Quick recap of the previous weeks:

1) Jesus used healing as a ministry and witnessing while he was on earth

2) God and only God heals but faith has to be present

3) Healing is Biblical with many verses we can use to strengthen our faith and stand on His promises

4) Believers are called to be intercessors, praying for one another for healing

5) Sin can be and is a stumbling block with some of our healing, coming to pass

Now this week is going to be a little harder for our natural man, but we must accept and have faith: that divine will of God is what is going to come to pass in our lives, the lives of our loved ones and the lives of those that we pray for both believers and unbelievers.

We, in our humanness, want all healing and want it now. We want to say a prayer and it is done; we are healed. But we have to not look through our eyes, but the eyes of God who knows all and has a plan that will prosper and not harm us (Jer 29:11)

In a nutshell, some will not see healing and some prayers will not be answered in the timing and in the way that we want them answered. The will of God is everything that God desires and wants to happen in Heaven and on Earth. Our life and plans must be in line with His will.

So why doesn't God heal? That is a hard question with what can be an even harder answer. Joni Eareckson Tada said.

“God may remove your suffering, and that will be great cause for praise. But if not, He will use it, He will use anything and everything that stands in the way of His fellowship with you. So let God mold you and make you, transform you from glory to glory. That’s the deeper healing.”

And even Paul the apostle had an affliction that God never healed even when Paul repeatedly prayer for it. Why? Because in that affliction, Paul's reliance was only on God. And God knew for Paul to be able to do the work God set for Paul, He needed Paul's 100% reliance. 2 Corinthians 12:7-10 So to keep me from becoming conceited, I was given a thorn in my flesh, a messenger of Satan, to torment me. Three times I pleaded with the Lord to take it away from me. But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore, I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. That is why, for the sake of Christ, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

And yes some illness will lead to death of this body here on earth but we have another promise in 2 Corinthians 5:1-3 For we know that when this earthly tent we live in is taken down (that is, when we die and leave this earthly body), we will have a house in heaven, an eternal body made for us by God himself and not by human hands.  We grow weary in our present bodies, and we long to put on our heavenly bodies like new clothing.  For we will put on heavenly bodies; we will not be spirits without bodies.

We may not see healing on this side of heaven with prayers being unanswered, but we can hold fast to His promise in His Word...Rev 21:4 And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes. No sorrow or travail of any kind shall ever enter within the walls of the city. The cry of anguish shall never be uttered, hearts shall never be broken, no tear shall ever dim the eye, and, most glorious of all, death shall be unknown.

In the end, we have to give it all over to the Lord. And some days we won't know what to do but I pray that in our affliction that we take our eyes off of the situation and we cry out holy. Holy is our God.

A thousand generations falling down in worship
To sing the song of ages to the Lamb
And all who've gone before us and all who will believe
Will sing the song of ages to the Lamb
Your name is the highest
Your name is the greatest
Your name stands above them all
All thrones and dominions
All powers and positions
Your name stands above them all
And the angels cry holy
All creation cries holy
You are lifted high, holy
Holy forever
If you've been forgiven and if you've been redeemed
Sing the song forever to the Lamb
If you walk in freedom and if you bear His name
Sing the song forever to the Lamb
We'll sing the song forever and amen
Hear your people sing holy
To the King of kings, holy
You will always be holy
Holy forever
Jesus
Your name is the highest
Your name is the greatest
You will always be holy
Holy forever
