Monday Prayer Closet- Same God (Healing)

Greeting Sisters, I am excited to share our prayer focus for March which is Healing.

Let's start at the beginning...

1) Why did Jesus heal? Healing was a main aspect of Jesus ministry on Earth.  Matthew 4:23-24

vs 23 Jesus went throughout Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, proclaiming the good news of the kingdom, and healing every disease and sickness among the people.

Why? vs 24 News about him spread all over Syria, and people brought to him all who were ill with various diseases, those suffering severe pain, the demon-possessed, those having seizures, and the paralyzed; and he healed them.

- there was no social media, His signs and wonders were spread through word of mouth.

- the people came to him

-His healing power separated him from other teachers

-they saw there was something different about this man, they saw with their eyes, they listened with their ears.

- people heard and received the news of the kingdom

- he walked the talk

Ultimately, Healing showed his divine nature, as the Son of God.

2) How did people receive their healing?

1- they came to him

2- because they believed something was going to happen- the healing

3- they received the healing through faith.

Faith: reliance, loyalty, complete trust in God- Heb 11:1 Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

The beginning point of faith is believing in Gods character- He is who he says he is. The end point is believing in Gods promises- He will do what he says.

Our evidence comes straight from Jesus words... a couple of examples....

Matthew Ch 8 Roman Centurian came to him for his paralyzed servant. vs 10... I have not found anyone in Israel with such faith.

Matthew Ch 9

- Paralyzed man brought by his friends. vs 2 When He saw their faith.

- Woman with issue of blood-came to him. vs 22 take heart daughter, your faith has healed you.

- Heals the blind man and mute. vs 29 According to your faith let it be done to your

- Demon possessed boy that the father brought to Jesus disciples, but they could heal him, Jesus had to. The disciples asked why they couldn't do that?  vs 20 because you have so little faith.

Faith is not the healing power, but we do see that faith is the first step toward healing. Gods power is what heals but our faith must be present. Remember faith is the reliance and complete trust in God.
